Angela Ponthier, AuD, has been an audiologist for 25 years. She is also known as Angela Gracie by many of her peers. Dr. Ponthier is the owner of Lagniappe Hearing, a private-practice audiology clinic in central Louisiana. Lagniappe is a French word that means a ‘gift’ or ‘something extra’. She is currently serving as the President-Elect for the Louisiana Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Ponthier has been credentialed with the VA Community Care Network since 2017 and receives referrals from both the Alexandria, LA VA Medical Center and the Jackson, MS VA Medical Center. She successfully files claims that are processed and PAID by VACCN within 7-9 days.

Dr. Ponthier was the Lead Audiologist at the Alexandria VA Medical Center for 18 years prior to private practice. The VA audiology clinic completed all testing for the VA’s primary care referrals, compensation & pension exams, hearing conversation program, traumatic brain injury team referrals and provided care for VA nursing home residents. Dr. Ponthier was awarded the “Super Star” medal by the VA Director for her Leadership role on a system redesign team. The team was created by the Director to streamline the flow of care through the audiology clinic. The goals of her team were to significantly reduce waiting time, decrease missed opportunities, and improve overall customer satisfaction.
